Archie Higdon Distinguished Educator Award

Conferred by Mechanics Division, American Society of Engineering Education, 1997

The Archie Higdon Distinguished Educator Award is awarded annually by the Mechanics Division for distinguished and outstanding contributions to engineering mechanics education. The award consists of an engraved plaque and paid registration for the ASEE Annual Conference and the Mechanics Division Banquet. The award is presented at the Mechanics Division Banquet at the society’s Annual Conference. Attendance at the ASEE Annual Conference is required.

 

Each nomination package must include a letter of nomination and no more than four accompanying letters of support that delineate the nominee’s contribution to mechanics education, and the nominee’s curriculum vitae. Nominations should be sent to the chair of the Division’s Awards Committee and must be received by January 31 of the year in which the award is to be presented. Any nominee not selected in the year of the original nomination will be reconsidered the following year.

 

Professor J.N. Reddy received the Archie Higdon Distinguished Educator Award in 1997.
